Lay pipe on flat level ground on wooden runners on ground as shown in figure
Always use timbers and chocks (stopper) between layers when stacking pipe as shown in figure

Use the following chart to determine recommended stacking height of your pipe

Along trench line
- String the pipe as near as possible to the ditch to avoid excess handling.
- String the pipe on the opposite side of the ditch from the excavated material.
- Place pipe so that it will be protected from traffic and equipment during the construction process.
